Dwight A. Lewis

Dwight Lewis is Of Counsel with Gilbert Employment Law, where he represents and advises clients on federal sector EEO complaints. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and earned his J.D. from Hastings College of the Law. Mr. Lewis began his legal career as a JAG Officer with the United States Army as the Installation Labor Counselor at Fort Bliss, Texas. He later served as Administrative Judge with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and was the Chief Administrative Judge in Dallas, Texas since 1990 until his retirement in the summer of 2018. In that capacity, he had overall responsibility for the administration and adjudication of federal sector complaint hearings for EEOC’s Dallas District Office. Mr. Lewis was a preeminent presence within the Commission throughout his tenure and has served on virtually all committees and panels responsible for the development of federal sector guidance, rules and policy during his years with the Commission. He has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he taught Administrative Law.
